UAE non oil exports increased by 12 percent in 1999

Recently published statistics by the Emirates Central Bank show that the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s non-oil exports, including re-exports, to the rest of the Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC) member countries decreased to 3.5 billion Emirati Dirhams ($952 million) in 1999, down from Dh 3.9 billion in 1998, reported Al-Bayan . These figures translate into a Dh 461 million drop, which is equivalent to 11.6 percent. In 2000, exports jumped to Dh 4.1 billion, a Dh 641 million rise, which is equivalent to 18.3 percent. — (menareport.com)
