A unique approach to fashion: Real models on treadmills
The store, ITIB, replaced traditional mannequins with live models to showcase how clothes move and fit in real-time.

ALBAWABA - As many jobs become automated, some roles seem to be going in the opposite direction, a Chinese retail chain has replaced traditional mannequins with real women walking on treadmills.

A video has gained high viewership and sparked controversial reactions on social media in China showing real women replacing plastic ones and doing clothes modelling.

According to the video, using humans instead of dummies helps "customers see how well the clothes fit a person while in motion."

Reactions from viewers were mixed; some claimed that walking continuously helps maintain their fitness: "It's not a bad idea if you're looking for some extra cash and also staying fit!"

Another commenter said, "Get paid to walk and showcase the latest fashions!" While another remarked, "This is strange. I think it provides them with job security and helps them get their daily steps in."
