ALBAWABA - The U.S. Air Force will adopt a new paint scheme for its executive fleet, including the next-generation presidential aircraft, using red, white, gold, and dark blue.
The new design departs from the traditional white and blue color scheme adopted since the presidency of John F. Kennedy and incorporates elements from a previous proposal by President Donald Trump that also included red, white, gold and dark blue.
That proposal was scrapped in 2022 after the Air Force concluded that using darker colors could cause overheating issues.
USA Today reported that the new colors will be applied to the VC-25B - the military designation for the Boeing BA.N 747-8i aircraft that will serve as Air Force One.
The next-generation of Air Force One aircraft will be in a color palette of red, white, dark blue, and gold, the service said on Feb. 17, USA Today added.
