Oil union representatives have stop strike related actions until they meet with the labor ministry, members of thje national assambly and PDVSA on Wednesday, unions officials said on Sunday.
Representatives Venezuelas' oil company PDVSA, Fedepetrol the nation's largest oil union and the legislative branch will meet Wednesday to avert a nationwide oil strike, the local ewspaper El Nacional reported on Sunday.
Last Thursday, Fedepetrol threatened to organize a nationwide oil strike as soon as Wednesday given PDVSA's refusal to meet their demands.
Oil workers claim PDVSA isn't honoring economic obligations embodied in a collective labor agreement signed November last year. PDVSA says it has honored all obligations.
In October of last year, PDVSA was forced to give into pay raise demands after oil workers staged a four-day oil strike which paralyzed the oil sector.
