A senior executive at the International Visa Company urged the Egyptian government to drop customs fees imposed on automatic teller machines (ATM) imported into Egypt, reported Al-Hayat . The same source said that Egypt imposes high taxes on importing ATM’s, rising as high as 35 percent. These taxes prevent the expansion of ATM services in Egypt. In addition, if Egypt drops this customs rate it will be able to increase its customs revenues after ATM imports increase. — (menareport.com)
