Indonesian manufacturer Warisan, aiming to capitalize on major growth in the Middle East hotel industry, will use the region’s leading hotel supplies exhibition to launch several new design concepts, according to a company press release. The Hotel Show 2003 will be taking place at Airport Expo Dubai, May 19-21, organized by Streamline Marketing.

“The Hotel Show provides us with an ideal platform from which to develop our business on a long-term basis in the Middle East, where billions of dollars are earmarked for hotel development and refurbishment,” Vanessa Robinson, managing director of the Bali-based manufacturer and designer of furniture, lighting and accessories, said.

Exhibiting in Dubai for a second successive year, Warisan is known in the Middle East for its recent completion of the Chedi Hotel Muscat in Oman, a boutique hotel furnished in conjunction with Malaysia-based design firm, Denniston, as well as the Hilton Water Villas in the Maldives, voted runner-up for hotel of the year by the UK’s Tatler.

Further projects in 2002 included work for Universal Studios in Hollywood, the USA Royal Pacific Hotel in Orlando, Cheju Nine Bridges Golf & Country Club, Korea, and the soon to open Ascari Race Resort, Malaga, Spain. Current work in progress includes Four Seasons projects at Exuma Bay in the Caribbean and Jimbaran Bay in Bali, The Fairmont Maui, and a spa at the Regent Formosa Taiwan. — (menareport.com)
