The World Bank is currently preparing a study with the objective of recruiting the Egyptian private sector to help resolve various technical and financing problems of the country’s drinking water industry.
This week, Egyptian cabinet members will debate a law proposal, which would commission private enterprises with the establishment and management of water and sewerage facilities in Egypt, reports Al-Hayat daily.
Meeting with the Deputy President of the World Bank in Washington last week, Egyptian Minister of Housing and Urban Communities, Ibrahim Solaiman, discussed potential cooperation between Egypt and the World Bank on this issue. —(MENA Report)
