UAE Department of Finance honors outstanding employees for 2010
Under the patronage of H.E. Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Department of Finance– Abu Dhabi (DoF) and in line with the directions of H.E. Abdullah Musleh Al-Ahbabi, Acting Undersecretary of DoF, on the importance of promoting concepts of excellence and developing services provided by the department, an honors ceremony was held in recognition of the department’s outstanding employees for 2010. Attended by H.E. Mohammed Sultan Al Hameli, Executive Director of DoF, the event was hosted to reward staff efforts in raising the standards of DoF services and developing them to be on par with global performance levels.
Held in attendance of DoF Heads of Directorates and Division Managers, the event honored 102 employees. Honorees received certificates and monetary rewards to encourage them to maintain their hard work and efforts in developing DoF’s services, reflecting its strategic vision of achieving prosperity for the emirate of Abu Dhabi through implementing an advanced financial framework and adopting a sound financial policy.
Commenting on the event, H.E. Al Hameli said: “This event falls in line with the standards of excellence adopted by the Department of Finance and reflects its efforts in retaining the best individuals. Today we honor our outstanding employees for 2010 in recognition of their hard work in performing their duties in their designated positions.”
“Furthermore, the ceremony supports our continuous efforts in motivating employees to perform their jobs according to their best abilities. It presents our commitment to following Abu Dhabi’s strategic plan and the guidance of our wise leadership on the importance of investing in human capital and developing national leaders, as the development of human cadres is considered to be one of the five strategic priorities for the Abu Dhabi government and its Center of Excellence,” H.E. added.
H.E. Al Hameli went on to emphasize DoF’s efforts in training and enhancing its employees’ capabilities and skills where it utilizes the best mechanisms and approaches to raise the efficiency of its staff members to train them on performing financial and customs duties in accordance with global best practices.
Speaking on behalf of the honorees, Mohammed Yousef Al Fahim thanked DoF’s administration for its training and development initiatives, and its efforts in providing a positive work environment that reinforces hard work and encourages staff to perform according to their best abilities. Al Fahim also noted that the ceremony played an important role in motivating employees to become further committed to their work and to DoF, and in promoting a culture of excellence, which is one of DoF’s main objectives.
“The Department of Finance remains one of the most important entities supporting the growth and development of Abu Dhabi. We hope to continue in our efforts and successes to serve the UAE and aid in its progress,” he added.
