Police release footage to expose common traffic violations by motorists.

Abu Dhabi Police has released a video of reckless driving that could have hit a school bus under a campaign warning motorists to take extra care around school zones.

The video posted on the Instagram account of Abu Dhabi Police showed a car that could have crashed into a school bus.

The police said the video was posted as a part of its initiative 'Your Comment', which seeks opinion from social media users about the mistakes of drivers.

In the video, a white car was seen turning to another road without noticing the arrival of a school bus. The police said such dangerous acts could lead to accidents.

The driver of the car ignored all traffic rules and also didn't care about the lives of students who were going home from their school.

Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Muhairi, Director of Security Media Department in the Command Affairs Sector, said that the initiative aims at exposing the motorists' mistakes to the public.

The attempt is also to create awareness through social media platforms, find appropriate solutions, reduce road accidents and minimise traffic accidents, he added.
