A US engineer called Isis claims her Facebook account was suspended because the social network "thinks I'm a terrorist".
In a series of tweets, Isis Anchalee complained that even sending a copy of her passport could not get her account restored.
@facebook why would you disable my personal account? MY REAL NAME IS ISIS ANCHALEE /facepalm— Isis Anchalee (@isisAnchalee) November 16, 2015
The social network - which has now reinstated her account - told NBC News the suspension had been made after one or more users flagged it as fake or offensive, but said it was "sorry for the trouble it caused".
Facebook did not say who flagged the Anchalee's account, or whether it was part of any renewed push to weed out so-called Islamic State propaganda online.
This week, hacking group Anonymous vowed a war against the militant group and its online followers in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, saying it had uncovered the details of thousands of IS-linked Twitter accounts.
