Here we go again — #WakeUpCall is the hottest new Ice Bucket Challenge, this time it's for Syria

There appears to be a new charity craze sweeping social media - #wakeupcall, in which the famous take pictures of themselves after they’ve just woken up.

Much less entertaining than the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, which died after everyone on planet Earth had drenched themselves in freezing water (although we’re still hoping Vladimir Putin might just be late to the party on that one), Wake Up Call raises money for Unicef’s Syria Emergency appeal.

Unlike similar charity pursuit #nomakeupselfie, which raised funds for Cancer Research UK, Wake Up Call has attracted men to take part, as well as women – Stephen Fry, Dan Snow, Darren Brown and Tom Hiddleston have already shared their photos on Twitter, in turn nominating three others to get involved.

Models, magazine editors and actors have shown their support, allegedly photographing themselves as they appear first thing in the morning, and launched by Jemima Khan. Key trends so far include lots of tousled bed hair and doey Bambi eyes.
