Israeli family fun: a day in front of the box.

Flying (or rather lounging) in the face of regional stereotypes of lazy Arab couch potatoes, Israelis are spending more and more time in front of the idiot box, with the average person watching almost four hours every day.

Israel ranks third in the world for those goggling the box on average.

Figures published by the country’s Audience Research Board found “reality” shows were by far the biggest draw for sofa loafers, with “Big Brother”, “Master Chef”, and “The Voice” ranking highest.

But the figures also suggested Israelis are watching more factual programming, including investigative reports and documentaries.
Over 65s watch the most, with an average of six hours a day.
