Agence France-Presse reported Tuesday that an 8-year-old Jordanian boy committed suicide after school bullies made fun of him for his deformed hand.
Police authorities told AFP that the boy, Mustafa Ahmad Abu Osheibeh, "repeatedly cried and complained to his family that he was suffering because his peers and workers at his school made fun of his right hand, which has no fingers."
The boy reportedly hung himself using a belt in his closet in his hometown of Zarqa Monday evening.
The boy's mother immediately took him to the public hospital upon discovering him in the closet, but the boy was in "bad condition and died at dawn on Tuesday," said police.
