A Palestinian family was killed in a house fire in Nabatieh late Sunday, according to local media reports.

The fire erupted at around 2:00 a.m. in an apartment in Nabatieh's Imam al-Mahdi neighborhood, leading to the death of the house’s residents, a Palestinian couple and their three children, according to the state-run National News Agency.

Local media identified the male householder as Ibrahim al-Dowali, while his wife was identified by NNA as M.H. Their children were Yasmine, 16, Sabrine, 8, and Nadine, 8 months old.

The fire was caused by an electrical problem, NNA reported.

Civil Defense personnel extinguished the fire and retrieved the bodies, which were reportedly transferred to Secours Populaire Libanais (Najda Public Hospital) and the Nabih Berri hospital.
