Make it rain! US bombs Daesh cash stockpile

The US Defense Department released a declassified video Friday, first to CNN, showing a US coalition bombing of a Daesh cash stockpile in Mosul, Iraq, Associated Press reports.

The silent, 47-second video opens with an overhead shot of the building in Mosul, Daesh's main stronghold in Iraq. The facility was hit with two 907-kilogram bombs.

The clouds of paper that can be seen floating above following the airstrikes are money, the Pentagon says.

According to US officials, millions of dollars were destroyed, but the exact amount is unknown.

This is at least the second time that Daesh stockpiles have been targeted in coalition strikes, which are aimed at weakening the group's financial resources.
