According to the AP, Daesh is falling on hard financial times and has had to make some budget cuts throughout the region.
Airstrikes and other measures have wiped out millions since last fall and have caused the self-proclaimed caliphate that once bragged it would soon be printing its own money to reduce spending to meet everyday expenses.
Everyday necessities are diminishing in the militant group's region and those under their rule are suffering.
Shortages and inflation in the region have led to massive budget cuts, the AP reported.
Salaries have been cut, honeymoon and baby bonuses are no longer in the benefits package and detainees are released for only $500 USD. Forget about those everyday perks of free Snickers bars and energy drinks. They are gone, too.
With all of its financial resources dwindling, Daesh has started to look for alternative streams of funding, including Libya, the AP said.
