Damage to educational institutions has been recorded in Oman with walls collapsing at a school in Izki and a canopy at a college falling through with the weight of rainwater in Rustaq.
The canopy couldn't handle the weight of the water that had gathered from the rain, which led to it collapsing to the ground.
No injuries were recorded in either incident.
Most of the schools in Muscat are closed due to heavy rain, as announced by Ministry of Education.
