A television channel based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was forced to apologize on Wednesday after a scene on a reality TV show was denounced as "pornographic" by critics.

Social media users shared a video from the Bedaya TV programme "Increase Your Credit" showing men dancing. In the offending clip, one stood closely behind another, grabbing the man's hips, and danced in a way that was reportedly suggestive of a sexual act. The video caused a social media uproar, using hashtags which translate as "Pornographic scene on Bedaya channel" among others.

Users called for the channel to be closed and for the scandalous dancer, described as a "molester," to be punished.

Bedaya apologized on Twitter explaining that mistakes can happen during live broadcasting.

"The act that took place by one of our contestants, an act which is not accepted by any logic, any religion, or moral values, was apologised for by the contestant," the channel stated.

"The act was unintended by him, and he has repented to God".

Bedaya then assured its viewers that the contestant had been disqualified and that his act does "not represent the channel or its goals to spread values and morals."

Perhaps in an attempted to calm the media storm and 'repent,' Bedaya TV showed a live Koran reading from a mosque, and then a food show on Wednesday afternoon.
