This is the moment moment a postal worker allegedly spat at two Muslim women who were pushing a buggy and calling them terrorists.

Dainton Coley, 34, faces hate crime charges after he launched a racist tirade at the two women wearing hijabs on a street in Brooklyn, New York.

Coley was caught on CCTV cameras yelling at them inside a deli that he followed them into as they tried to get away from him.

Footage shows him repeatedly pointing his finger in their faces while shouting at them and the baby.

He threatened them, saying: "I'm going to burn you f*****g temple", according to the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

When one of the victims accused him of being 'crazy', he replied: "I'm not crazy, I work in the post office."

He was later arrested and charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child, harassment and menacing as a hate crime.

The owner of the deli, Jameel Abdulla, told DNA Info : "The woman was telling him stop following them and to leave them alone.

"I came in between [them] because the woman had a baby. I did not want the baby to get hurt."

He added that Coley was well known on the street and had bothered customers before.

According to NYPD data, anti-Muslim hate crimes in New York are down 43 per cent in the year ending November 15 but in the wake of the Paris attacks there are fears of violence against Muslims.
