ALBAWABA - For those with young children, it sometimes might be hard to go places as a family for different reasons, but one wouldn't think a restaurant would be one of those places.
A Georgia restaurant came under fire after a family was charged an additional $50 for allegedly poor behavior by their children. According to a report in the Daily Mail, Lindsay Landman and her husband, Kyle, were dining at Toccoa River Restaurant in Blue Ridge with their three children and four families with 11 children in total.
Children's behavior causes a restaurant to charge parents more

The owner, Tim Richter, approached the table after some parents took their children outside. He informed the family of a policy regarding additional charges for children and said that $50 would be added to each table's bill.
Initially, the family thought it was a joke but soon realized it wasn't. Richter claimed that the children were being too loud and running around outside.
This led to an argument that ruined the rest of their evening, and they left the restaurant feeling unhappy. Kyle subsequently posted a negative review of the eatery on Google, expressing his disappointment.
The story has struck a chord with the public, with many people expressing outrage at the restaurant's behavior. Many commentators have criticized the restaurant's policy as punitive and unfair, as parents cannot entirely control their children's behavior in the often-hectic setting of a restaurant.
While it is important for parents to keep an eye on their kids and make sure they are behaving well in public, blaming the parents entirely and forcing them to pay an additional fee for their children's behavior strikes many as being excessive.
It is worth considering that managing a large group of young children's behavior is very difficult and that a restaurant should be prepared to accommodate families with such children.

As for the restaurant in question, it is unclear how the scandal will affect the business, though the negative publicity generated by this case may be difficult to overcome, especially in the short term.
It is worth noting that the customer's experience makes or breaks a restaurant. Even if the restaurant has delicious food, it can suffer if the atmosphere is unwelcoming or the service is unfriendly.
In this case, it seems that the experience was the opposite of enjoyable, and it remains to be seen whether Toccoa River Restaurant's reputation will recover in the aftermath.
