ALBAWABA - The passing away of Palestinian artist Laila Al Shawa from Gaza is making headlines. 

The news is being covered all over the media and social platforms. The 82-year-old is an artists who displayed great creativity in her career.  

Born in Gaza in 1940 she a painter with a difference and tenacity who held her first exhibition in Lebanon in 1971, followed by an exhibit in 1972. This was the beginning  of a tumultuous art journey dabbling with the brush. 

Judging from the posts she will be missed greatly in the Palestinian and Arab art world. In 1978 she moved to London and some of her works displayed at the British Museum.
