We've watched Saudi Arabia’s Hamza Hawsawi for months on our TV screens, until he won The X Factor Arabia on Saturday night. But here are some things you didn't come to know about the rising star, until now!
1. Hamza is a huge Play Station 3 fan. His new fave action video game is "Final Fantasy 14." Now that he's a recording artist, will he have time for both singing and kicking fictional demons' asses?
2. He loves kitty cats. His tiny white kitten, named Zakanya or Kanya which means "Lioness" in Hausa language, licks his ear until he wakes up. Adorable!
3. Mr practical joker: Not only is Hamza a funny guy but he likes to pretend to do magic tricks. Very funny guy.
Now that Hamza is going to be in the spotlight a lot more after winning one of the Middle East's hottest singing competitions, maybe we'll see more of his video game-playing, kitty cat petting and fun magic tricks!
Hamza's first comment after claiming the winning title was, "I still can't believe that I've won. But I'm so happy that I have and to collaborate with Sony Music. As for what X Factor judge Ragheb Alama said, I'm ready for all the obstacles ahead, because this is what I wanted.
"And in response to to whether the Saudi people will accept me singing in the English language, I think that many Saudi youth listens to Western music, and the fact that people voted for me to win means that they're ready to listen to an Arabic singer perform in English, therefore, I don't think that I'll have any problems with my Saudi fans," Hamza said, Al Madenah News reported.
