Egyptian artist Mohammed Rashad has officially separated from his wife, anchor May Helmy, after a one-and-a-half-year of marriage, according to his business manager Mohammed Majdi.
In a statement released by Mohammed; the separation took place about two weeks ago due to disagreements between them, pointing out that the divorce is scheduled to officially take place in the coming days.
Majdi also revealed that the crisis had increased between the couple in the recent period as they were threatened to be imprisoned by Mohammed Rashad's producer, which resulted in the necessity to pay an amount of 5 million Egyptian pounds as a penalty clause.
This has prompted Mai to file for divorce and decided to separate in complete secrecy.
The couple had previously unfollowed each other on social media, and Rashad deleted all photos with Mai from his accounts.
