The new Egyptian TV drama Meter Wanisf Hob (Meter and a Half of Love) starts when Rawayeh’s copper pot for melting butter is stolen, and trip to find the vital kitchenware leads to the twisted criminal underworld.
The episode tells the story of an old woman, Rawayeh, who lives in a small hut on the bank of the Nile River and makes her living by melting butter in a copper pot for her neighborhood customers.
When the pot is stolen, Rawayeh sets out on a dificult journey between the police stations and the underworld of criminals and bullies. Matters escalate, and Rawayeh discovers many disturbing secrets, according to the Arabic daily Al Gomhuria.
The author Nabil Abdel Hamid and director Mohammed Tirah agreed upon the name Meter Wanisf Hob (Meter and a Half of Love) for the show, which was produced by the TV production department.
Costarring in the new production are Aida Abdel Aziz, Wafaa Amer, Ahmed Maher, Hamdi Ghaith, Abdullah Mahmoud, Wahid Seif, Anbar and Ahmed Akel.
The outdoor scenes are currently being shot at the Nile Cornish, Pharos Village, Al Qanater Alkhairiyyah, Media Production City and in a microbus - Albawaba.com
