Young Egyptian actress Abeer Sabri has decided to try her hand at producing a film with the temporarily-titled Shabab Ghawyeen Lae’b (Young Men Dabbling in Play) in which she will also take a starring role.

Sabri told the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat that she took her decision because she admired the film’s storyline, and due to the lack of an enthusiastic producer for it.

She added that she had not decided on the film director or cast, but said she would focus on recruiting young actors, as opposed to high-paid older stars.

Sabri admitted that she was scared by the new experience, and the possibility of failure in view of her lack of experience, but she said she was determined to go for it whatever the consequences might be.

The latest appearance of the actress on the big screen was in the film Etfarraj Ya Salam along with Majed Al Masri, Hani Ramzi and Hanan Al Turk, under the direction of Kamel Al Qalyoubi - Albawaba.com
