Egyptian comedian actor Yousif Dawood has passed away at the age of 74 after a long battle with cancer.

Yousif was recently admitted to hospital after his health condition deteriorated tremendously. Once his poor condition became stable but fadin, he was released and days later passed away.

Head of the Egyptian Actors Union Ashraf Abdel Ghafour said in a press release, “Yousif Dawood passed away today Sunday June 24, and the funeral ceremony will take place at Marqasiah Church in Alexandria, and condolences will be accepted at the same place.”

Born on March 10th, 1938 in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, Yousif Jarjis Saleeb  is one of Egypt’s comedic icons.

Throughout his career journey, he took part in over 186 plays, television dramas and films, all of which he was cast in a humorous role that brought laughter to viewers. Among his most noted projects  was starring alongside Egyptian comedian legend Adel Imam
