She’s never been quiet about her political stance, but now Sharihan has gone all out and opened up her home in downtown Cairo to be the headquarters of the opposition campaign/party 'Tamarud'. She's not the first celebrity to join the movement that is calling for ousting elected Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi. The Egyptian actress and other supporters of the campaign are calling for early presidential elections to choose a more appropriate candidate to lead the country.
According to Laha magazine, Sharihan will be taking an active part in the June 30th scheduled demonstrations and has encouraged all Egyptians to join in too.
The activist is also taking her political push to social media, Tweeting that she is against Morsi and his agenda and wishing that all citizens will come to the streets on June 30th and be part of the protests.
Her career life is not nearly so active as her political one. Sharihan intends on filming a new television drama titled "Dumoo' Cinderella" (Cinderella's tears) after the holy month of Ramadan, but the project has been postponed thanks to an incomplete script.
