At the Arabia Cinema Awards, married couple and love birds Ahmed Helmy (X-Large) and Mona Zaki (30 Years Ago) put on an adorable display of why they’re such a great couple.
It started with Zaki, who won Best Actress in a Comedy for her role in Thirty Years Ago. After receiving the prize on-stage, the actress turned to address her husband, who was in the audience. Referencing his career in Egyptian comedy films, Zaki quipped, “This show’ll you, Helmy,” adding he ought to “fear [her].”
But the barb didn’t go unchallenged when Helmy won the Best Actor in a Comedy award. Turning to address his wife on-stage, the actor said, “Mona won’t be sleeping home tonight.” He added, “I’m always happy for you, but don’t feast on my end of the table.”
The couple won attention last year after an usually long and affectionate hug between the two followed Zaki winning an award.
