Moroccan breakthrough artist Ahmad Sultan will battle it out against Rihanna for the title of Best Worldwide Act at next month’s MTV European Music Awards.

Sultan beat off competition from north east India’s five-piece Alobo Naga & the Band as well Nigerian singer D’Banj, known for the international summer hit ‘Oliver Twist’ to become the Best Africa-India-Middle East Act official entry.

Now he will go up against the final Worldwide Act nominees including Dima Bilan (Europe), Han Geng (Asia Pacific), Rihanna (North America) and Restart (Latin America).

For the past six weeks, MTV have given fans around the world a chance to vote for their favourite hometown artists, all to help that local act secure the nomination and earn a chance to represent their respective region at this year’s EMA.
