ALBAWABA - "Based on the zoomed-in footage, it appears that the fan was heckling Amr Diab!" A video of Amr Diab striking an individual who attempted to approach him during his wedding performance in order to snap a photo with him has gone viral, causing a schism in public opinion.
"No way. Amr has to retire. His supporters are too much for him to handle; he should just quit."
Video footage of Amr Diab trying to grab a photo with Egyptian producer Mohamed Al-Saadi after his singing portion finished has gone viral. Diab was performing at Al-Saadi's daughter's wedding.
Many were quick to condemn Amr, particularly given that this followed two episodes in which he insulted his personal driver and physically assaulted a sound engineer onstage. However, there were also many who saw the absurdity in his reaction, as well as those who failed to pay close enough attention to the video that was making the rounds.
After watching the video multiple times, it's clear that Amr didn't refuse to film and take a selfie with the young man, as some claimed. According to the video, Amr's behavior abruptly changed when the young man reached for his jacket, leading him to "slap" the young man in the face before security came to their rescue. He plucked the young guy away from among the onlookers around Amr and the newlyweds.
Saudi Arabian opera singer Sawsan Al-Bahiti shared her thoughts on the topic via
Twelve tracks made up Amr Diab's most recent album, "Your Place," which he released only days before the new year of 2024. As a result of its immense popularity, the hashtag "Your Place, Amr Diab" dominated the X trend in many Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
Conversely, in observance of Eid Al-Adha, Amr Diab will play a string of massive concerts; the first of these will take place in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on June 15, 2024, and the second will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on June 18, 2024.
