Fadel Shaker may have quit his job as a singer for a career with a rebel militant group, but his name is still making news headlines.
The 46-year-old former singer's fan base hasn't died down as you'd expect either, with some of his celebrity friends still rooting for him.
Egyptian singer-actress Sherine Abdel Wahab and Lebanese singer Fares Karam showed Fadel some love this week, following Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alama's claims that "Fadel had threatened to kill him because of his religion."
Fadel's son Mohammad denied the allegations, explaining that Ragheb insulted his dead grandma (Fadel's mum), which resulted in him being threatened.
Sherine and Fares didn't seem to take much notice of Alama's story, and the starlet paused during her concert at the Hala Febrayer Festival in Kuwait to address the Arab world with a very important message.
She told the audience that "the big star" Fadel Shaker sends his love to them, adding that she's hoping for their support in order for him to return to singing.
And in his honor, Sherine serenaded Fadel with one of his famous songs, "Nseet Ansat" (I forgot to Forget You), much to the joy of the crowd.
Meanwhile, Fares told an audience during a press conference held before his scheduled concert at the Souq Waqif Festival, that he is very fond of Fadel and the music world really misses him.
With the support of his friends, will we see Fadel back on stage in no time?
