According to the London daily Elaph, the Yemeni artist Arwa held a celebration for the launching of her new album “Ghaseb Anak” (Despite What You Think). The celebration was held last week at the Metropolitan Hotel in Beirut.
Some of the artists that attended the launch were the Lebanese composer
Jan Mary Riyachi, the director Toni Qahwaji, sound engineer Toni Haddad, and the composer Haitham Ziad. Arwa’s manager Haifa Al Faqih was also present among the management and workers at “Platinum Records” and “MBC” channel.
The new album includes 14 songs that vary between the Lebanese, Egyptian, Khaliji “Gulf countries” and Yemeni dialects.
Arwa has already filmed a new video clip for a song from the album called “Youm Wahed” (One Day) with the director Toni Qahwaji. The clip was produced by Arwa herself. Platinum Records had distributed the clip and awarded Arwa the Golden Record, because she reached the highest sales in the company after one week of launching the new album in stores. There were 20000 copies sold in such a short time.
Arwa said that she wanted to tell everyone through her new album that she is a Yemeni artist and that she is still in the spotlight.
