Prominent Egyptian actress Athar Al Hakim is currently preparing to shoot the first scenes of her upcoming role in the film “Ightial Ahlam Bare’a” (Killing of Innocent Dreams) alongside prominent Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi. The film is written by Mamdouh Al Said and directed by Mohammad Abdul Aziz.

In the film, Athar plays the role of a university professor, who insists on holding on to her ideals, a matter that places her in very dangerous situations. Throughout the course of events, individuals who are against her ways of thinking attempt to assassinate her, feeling that her methods are too liberal.

Athar has withdrew from the leading role of the upcoming television drama series “Kanadeel Al Baher” after a dispute broke out between her and director Ahmad Khader. The dispute was over differences of opinions regarding the drama, which was written by author Ibrahim Abdul Majeed.

Athar has defended her position by stressing that she had agreed to the filming of the scenes on the condition that she takes over the revision of the script during its implementation, especially due to the fact that the director has no previous experience in acting. The revision Athar added includes studying the characters, the plot, and every small detail of the drama, which is a basic routine followed in producing a new drama.

Athar revealed that she had always taken on the responsibility of revising the scripts of all her previous dramas, causing her to go in shock when the director refused her request. The director stressed that the responsibility of revising the script is his in order to match the theme of the story. What added to Athar’s shock was the fact that the end result was a complete opposite and so she began to give different opinions regarding the script, which were all overlooked by the director.

The incident caused Athar’s fury to grow and so she decided to withdrawal from the drama stressing that she cannot work under such circumstances when she does not have a say in the drama she is working on.
