Bill Murray and Bruce Willis ‘Rock the Kasbah’ in Morocco

The Star Wars preview was not the only highlight of San Diego's Comic Con - Bill Murray surprised fans by making his first appearance at the geekfest to talk about his upcoming film, Rock the Kasbah.

The Ghostbusters star Bill Murray walked through the isles in character as Richie Lanz, while rock-and-roll music played in the background. He praised the fans' passion and excitement as well as complimented his co-stars Bruce Willis, Shia LaBeouf, Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel and Danny McBride.

Morocco has scored another win in the filming destination stakes, with the country standing in this time for Afghanistan. 

The new comedy that stars Murray as burned out rock manager Richie Lanz who is taking his last client on a USO tour of Afghanistan. After finding himself abandoned and penniless in Kabul, he discovers a young singer and manages her through the Afghan version of American Idol.

Produced by Mitch Glazer, Rock the Kasbah is scheduled for its US release in the autumn.
