ALBAWABA - Comedy Central has pulled a recent "South Park" show due to the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.

Charlie Kirk founded the conservative youth political group Turning Point USA. He was shot and killed Wednesday at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

The network removed the rerun of the "South Park" episode in which Eric Cartman, one of the show's main characters, impersonated Charlie Kirk after his death.

The show first aired in early August, and it was set to air again on Wednesday night.

You can still watch the episode on Paramount+ and on demand even though Comedy Central no longer airs it.

Cartman pretends to be Kirk in the episode by imitating the right-wing activist's behavior and the way he debates, which is very heated. People say that, like Kirk, Cartman runs a right-wing podcast where he debates those who don't agree with him.

Kirk went on TikTok on August 7 after the show came out and called it "hilarious."

"The 'South Park' episode just dropped, and honestly, it is hilarious," he said at the time. "While some parts resemble typical humor, I still found it hilarious. "Just watch this little snippet of our 'Prove Me Wrong,' our viral, cultural domination on primetime on Comedy Central—so important, so impactful that 'South Park' is highlighting it. Watch."

Kirk then showed a scene from the episode in which Cartman debates people on his made-up podcast.

In the show, there is also a character who gets an award named after Kirk.

Before the episode aired, Kirk told TikTok that if his name was mentioned on the show, he should consider it a "big win."

"We got our award show as part of 'South Park,'" he said at the time. "I was told that going in—'Charlie, if they say your name, that's a big win.' Apparently there's "The Charlie Kirk Awards."

At the end of his TikTok, Kirk said, "There's going to be a lot said about this, but we need to have a positive spirit about being made fun of, and this is all a success. "Everything is a victory."

Kirk changed his TikTok profile picture to a picture of Cartman from the show. He had gained almost 8.5 million followers on the app in the past year and a half.

After Kirk's death on Wednesday, many conservatives said that the authors of "South Park" were disrespectful to him and supposedly target conservatives.

Another group of leaders, both Republicans and Democrats, spoke out against Kirk's death.

Trump called Kirk's death "heinous" in a video message that was shared on social media on Wednesday.

"Charlie inspired millions, and tonight, all who knew him and loved him are united in shock and horror," he stated. "Charlie was a patriot who devoted his life to the cause of open debate in a country that he loved so much."

He also said that Kirk was a "martyr for truth and freedom."

The person thought to be the shooter is being sought.
