ALBAWABA - There's a story circulating in the Turkish media about a recent statement made by Palestinian-American model Bella Hadid commenting on the Palestinian-Israeli war.
After the clashes between Hamas and Israel that started on October 7, celebrities continue to make statements on the Palestinian-Israeli war, but is Bella Hadid one of them?
Many Turkish websites, such as Sabah, Onedio, Patronlardunyasi.Com, A Haber, and more, have reported that Palestinian-American model Bella Hadid has expressed her support for Palestine in the current war, adding that Hadid's last statement is quite bold and attracted everyone's attention.
Bella Hadid: I'm not afraid of losing modeling jobs, according to Turkish media
Sabah Turkish newspaper has reported that model Bella Hadid expressed her support for Palestine since the systematic attacks launched by Israel against Gaza.
The newspaper added that the famous model made a new statement 10 days after the conflicts started:
It claims that Bella said: “Even if my career stops, I will never stop supporting Palestine. I'm not afraid of losing modeling jobs, I will continue to raise my voice,"
Adding that Bella Hadid also slammed Netanyahu's brutal policy:
"Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is the new Hitler! He is working to create a new cemetery for 2.5 million Palestinian people. He is the Hitler of modern times!”
After Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, the Israeli army started another war in Gaza. Everyone around the world is witnessing Gaza's humanitarian tragedies on social media.
Israel blockaded Gaza, claiming that it would wipe Hamas off the face of the earth. Thousands of Palestinians lost their lives in the bombings.
Gigi Hadid comments on the Palestinian-Israeli war
Since Bella Hadid's statements are not yet confirmed, her older sister Gigi Hadid has already broken her silence and wrote a lengthy post on Instagram expressing her opinion on the war.
She wrote: "My thoughts are with all those affected by this unjustifiable tragedy and every day that innocent lives are taken by this conflict too many of which are children. I have deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation, it's a responsibility I hold daily. I also feel a responsibility to my Jewish friends to make it clear, as I have before: While I have hopes and dreams for Palestinians, none of them include the harm of Jewish person."
Gigi continued: "The terrorizing of innocent people is not in alignment with & does not do any good for the 'Free Palestine' movement. The idea that it does has fueled a painful, decades-long cycle of back&forth retaliation (which no innocent civilian, Palestinian or Israeli, deserves to be a casualty of), and helps perpetuate the false idea that being Pro-Palestine = antisemitic."
She concluded, "If you are hurting, as I share my condolences today with my loved ones, both Palestinian and Jewish, I'm sending you my love & strength whoever and wherever you are. There are a lot of complex, personal, and valid feelings, but every human deserves basic rights, treatment, and security; no matter their nationality religion, ethnicity, or where they were born. I know my words will never be enough or heal the deep wounds of so many but I pray for the safety of innocent lives, always."
