Steven Spielberg will reportedly direct Jennifer Lawrence in his upcoming film, It's What I Do, based on the forthcoming memoir of American photographer Lynsey Addario.

Warner Bros. recently won the highly coveted film rights to Addario's It's What I Do: A Photographer's Life of Love and War, an excerpt of which appeared in The New York Times Magazine.

Warner Bros. beat several major studios for the rights to Addario's book, with other big-name actresses said to be vying for the lead role, including Natalie Portman and Reese Witherspoon.

Addario's book, which debuted in February, details her experiences as a photojournalist working in conflict zones.

"Refusing to turn down career-defining assignments, she puts romance and family on hold," reads the book's official description. "Yet the sadness and injustice she encounters as as a conflict reporter give her a new vision for her own life, and the more she sees of the world, the greater her desires for love and family grow."
