ALBAWABA - The first trailer for Star TV’s highly anticipated new series Tuzlu Kahve has been released, offering viewers their first extended look at the romantic comedy and its impressive ensemble cast.
Produced by Poll Films, the series brings together some of the most recognizable names in Turkish television, including Eda Ece, Buğra Gülsoy, Nebahat Çehre, Binnur Kaya, Şevval Sam, Yasemin Ergene, Sarp Apak, Ceren Moray, Enis Arıkan, Hatice Aslan and Nergis Kumbasar.
At the center of the story are Gözde, played by Eda Ece, and Mehmet, portrayed by Buğra Gülsoy. Gözde is the daughter of a well-established and wealthy Istanbul family, while Mehmet is a holding heir who has returned to Türkiye from the United States.
The couple falls in love and decides to get married. Their decision, however, creates a much bigger problem than they initially expect. Their families come from completely different worlds, and bringing everyone together around the same table proves far more complicated than the young couple imagined.
The series combines romantic comedy with family drama, focusing not only on the relationship between Gözde and Mehmet but also on the tensions created when different generations, traditions and family expectations collide.
The newly released trailer gives audiences a glimpse of the lively family dynamics at the heart of the story, while also highlighting the chemistry between the main characters and the comedic situations that emerge as the two families become increasingly involved in the couple’s relationship.
Tuzlu Kahve has attracted considerable attention because of its unusually large cast. Alongside Ece and Gülsoy, the series features veteran stars such as Nebahat Çehre, Binnur Kaya, Hatice Aslan and Nergis Kumbasar, bringing together performers from different generations of Turkish television.
Nebahat Çehre and Yasemin Ergene are also returning to television with the project after an extended absence from the screen, adding further interest to the production.
The cast also includes Melis Fis, Nazlı Senem Ünal, Nazlı Tosunoğlu, İrem Kahyaoğlu, Gökçe Özyol, Cengiz Bozkurt, Nevra Serezli and Settar Tanrıöğen. Recent casting additions included Nazlı Tosunoğlu and Nazlı Senem Ünal, with Tosunoğlu set to play Şengül, the assistant of Binnur Kaya’s character Safiye, while Ünal will portray Melodi.
The series is written by Aslı Zengin and Ece Yosmaoğlu and directed by Mustafa Kotan. Poll Films, with Polat Yağcı as producer, is behind the production. Tuzlu Kahve also marks Poll Films’ first television series after the company became known for several successful film productions.
The project was previously introduced through a full-cast reading rehearsal, where the actors came together before filming. The production team reportedly created personalized cardboard cutouts for the cast members, adding a playful touch to the first gathering and setting the tone for the family comedy.
Filming has now begun, with the series expected to premiere on Star TV in September 2026.
With its combination of romance, family conflict and comedy, along with a cast packed with familiar faces, Tuzlu Kahve is shaping up as one of Star TV’s notable new-season productions.
