What's really going on still remains to be seen, but Maali Zayed's family is denying that their celebrity relative has cancer.
All the gossip began when the Egyptian actress was suddenly admitted to the Al Salam International Hospital. Fearful fans immediately began to guess the worst and began to suggest the starlet is suffering from a serious disesase, such as cancer.
When contacted to comment on the situation, Maali's eldest sister Muhjah said she was shocked to hear of the rumors that were quickly being spread, reports Sayiday.net. Muhjah was with her sis when she was admitted to the hospital, so she should certainly be considered a solid source on the subject.
"My sister is not diagnosed with cancer as many are claiming and began spreading in the media," she said.
"The reason behind my sister's illness is smoking, for she is like a chain smoker and began having problems in her lungs," she divulged.
Muhjat said that Maali is now receiving oxygen at the hospital until her condition stabilizes.
Some of the rumors included that Maali will be going abroad for medical assistance, but Muhjat said that this is not a possibility and her doctors are the only one who will make such a decision.
Muhjat added that her brother is a doctor in England, and he came back to check up on Maali. Muhjat called on the media to stop publishing false news about her sister and to be more precise regarding what they write.
Could her health be the real reason Maali turned down a sweet film role recently?
