No "Big Night" for Maali Zayed: Egyptian actress turned down film gig

We've been hearing alot about "The Big Night" (Al Laylah Al Kabeerah) lately. Stars like Donia Samir Ghanem and Safia Al Umari have said yes to the script written by Ahmad Abdullah, and even the movie's director Sameh Abdel Aziz's new wife Ruby will be worked into the scenes.

One person we won't be seeing in the film is Maali Zayed. The Egyptian actress was allegedly offered a leading role but decided to decline based on the fact that she fears starring in films that are used as marketing products, according to Laha Magazine. This is the method producer Al Sabki has been using in all his films, and she just doesn't see herself doing that. She's got a reputation to uphold after all since she has previously appeared in significant and successful films alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.

Maali revealed that she had received a very tempting offer to star in a new television drama to be presented in the Ramadan season of 2015. As soon as the script is completed, she'll be making her final decision.

The last small screen appearance for Maali came last year in the drama "Mawja Hara" (Heat Wave) with Jordanian actor Eyad Nassar and Egyptian actress Rania Yousif.
