For the first time since her divorce from Iranian-dutch businessman Alireza Almassi, Lebanese singer Dominique Hourani opened up about the real reason behind their separation.
The mum-of-one revealed that her first love was the reason behind her calling it quits with Almassi.
Unlike what has been previously reported, Dominique stressed that cheating on Almassi was not behind their divorce.
“I never cheated on my husband. At the time, I was thinking about my first love the entire time; I even filmed music videos for him and used to dream about him every night. I don’t want anyone to blame me for this. Choosing who we love has never been something that we could control. Cheating is never OK regardless of the situation. Women do however become weaker when someone is being kind and loving towards them.”
In a past interview, Dominique admitted that she never loved Almassi, but only married him because he was “right on paper.”
Previous rumors also claimed that the singer gave up the custody of their only daughter “Dilara” in order to grant a divorce from him, while another rumor claimed that she had given up custody of her little girl in order to receive more of Almassi's assets as a settlement.
The sassy celeb decided to take Mother's Day 2014 as the perfect moment to quieten those claims once and for all by releasing a special song dedicated to Dilara.
The song, named after the diva's daughter, denied all allegations regarding her custody.
Dominique also made a video during her daughter's birthday party to further prove the rumors false.
