Tunisian actress Durra Durra is poised to bag ‘Best Arab Star’ in the acting category at the Murex D’or Awards in Beirut.
The actress was recognized for her outstanding performances in the Egyptian television dramas “Adam” and “Al Rayan” that were aired last year during the high film season of Ramadan.

Durra will be heading to Lebanon next week to accept the award at the 12th annual Murex D’or Awards.
The starlet expressed her delight at being selected for the prestigious Lebanese award for achievement in the arts, especially thrilled since it is based on viewers’ votes from around the world.

The Golden Murex Awards draw their nomination of winners on votes made by people from around the world in concert with the decision of a specialized panel of judges. But for Durra, her success is also down to her lucky engagement to Tunisian businessman, she reckons.  Al Rayan was one of the film projects she signed on to after committing to the love of her life, and she links her film success with this portentious love affair. She is also confident that she'll make a better wife than some of her previous roles as 'first lady' in TV dramas, she admits during an interview on playing wife versus being wife.

Durrah is currently concluding filming of her scenes for the new Egyptian film “Baba” (Daddy) alongside prominent Egyptian actor Ahmed Al Sakka. The film is directed by Ali Idris.
