Tunisian beauty, Durra Zarrouk, has made a name for herself in the Ramadan TV drama series but never before has she taken on a part as big as that of the First Lady of her own country.
The young actress is set to play Laila Ben Ali, wife of ousted president, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, a woman hated and feared by most of her countrymen.
Durra said she was persuaded to take on the role to show just how much the First Lady was to blame for leading her husband astray. The drama, called 'Al Jameelah wal Mughamer' (Beauty and the Adventurer) tells the life story of Laila Ben Ali from her childhood of poverty to her reign over all Tunisia.
