The head of the Egyptian Radio Corp., Omar Batishah, decided to produce a number of new patriotic songs that show solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemn the brutal massacres committed by Israel.

Wardah will sing the first song entitled Waqfat Arafat written by Sayyed Higab and another one written by the renowned poet Ahmed Sahfiq Kamel under the title Allah A’la Tifel al A’rab composed by Ammar al Shuraie’e.

The third song about Palestine is written, composed and sung by a number Palestinian singing stars in addition to the poem Okhti Wafaa written by poet Omar Batishah, composed by Amar al Shuraie’e and recorded by Amal Maher. The song al Nasr Aw al Shahadah recorded by Ghadah Ragab, written by Gamal Bakheet and composed by Ridha Ragab was given the green light this week.

The head of the Egyptian TV, Zainab Swaidan, told the daily al Ahram, “more than thirty songs have been reproduced including songs by prominent singers such as Umm Kulthoom, Abdel Halim Hafez, Mohammed Abdel Wahhab, Fairouz and others whose songs were taken from the archives and remade in a good manner that suits the events since the eruption of the Intifada to date. These songs were adapted to provide coverage for the flaring events in Palestine so that they will be more effective. The songs, which the TV directors were enthusiastic to direct free of charge, will be published by all TV channels -- Albawaba.com
