Director Amr Bayoumi is shooting his latest film, Alaab Mamnouaa (Forbidden Games), written by Ahmed Hamed and costarring Shireen Ridha, Tareq Lutfi, Ahmed Ezz Eddin, Farah and Bassem Samrah.
The film is about two female university students, their professor and a police officer who are joined together by a single event through which many surprises are revealed.
Bayoumi told the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat, “I returned to direction after my first film Al Jesr (The Bridge) because this new film is different, attractive and includes the elements of suspense, surprise and excitement.
“These elements attract the audience away from comedy, which has become a fad. This does not mean that I am against comedy, as I advocate for it, provided that all films are not comic, because diversity is necessary.”
The young actress Farah said: “My character in the film is different from the characters I played before in Al Haffar (Digger) and Ard Al Khawf (Fear Land). In this film I play the role of a divorced university student who does not care for anyone except herself.”
Farah said cooperation with a young director had many advantages because new directors had different and unique thoughts - Albawaba.com
