A closed hearing took place at the Supreme Court in Paris on Tuesday, where Moroccan star Saad Lamjarred stood before a judge while his lawyer, Yeric Débonne Moretti, debated why his client should be set free.

Lamjarred has been locked up behind bars at the Fleury-Mérogis prison since October 2016.

Arabic media reported that Saad's hearing lasted for an intense two hours, and ended with Moretti leaving the courtroom hurried and infuriated.

They did however confirm that a second hearing will take place on Sunday (April 16), where a final decision will be made in Saad's case, providing that Moretti presents the judge with further evidence.

Will Saad finally see the light on Sunday or will the singer, who is accused of raping a young French woman, go down for a crime he claims he didn't commit?

Meanwhile, the hearing's outcome took Saad's fans by surprise, seeing as they were expecting their idol to be released on Tuesday.
