For reasons as yet murky, Lebanon’s Future TV has rejected the idea of inviting Egyptian belly dancer Dina to be a guest on the program Ya Umri, according to the Kuwaiti daily Al Rai Al Am.
The program has previously hosted Egyptian belly dancer Fifi Abdo and singer Ahmed Adawiyyah, arousing controversy and criticism.
Rumors spread that Fifi Abdo refused to record the interview unless she received $2,000 dollars from the Lebanese TV channel.
Dina, meanwhile, has repeatedly insulted Lebanese dancers in the media, and the response she has been even more sharp than her insults.
Some observers have attributed the spat to the disruption of the program Sireh Wa Infatahat, aired by Future TV, on belly dancers. The disruption reportedly took place at the request of Lebanese parliamentarian Bahiyyah Al Hariri, but others attributed it to Dina’s enmity toward Lebanese dancers.
The real cause remains unknown, but the war between the belly dancers in the Arab world seems to have reached Ya Umri and its duo Nisreen Naser and Sharbel Zyadah - Albawaba.com
