Viewers of the Ramadan TV series "Afrah Al Qoba" had their gaydars on full alert when the controversial drama aired a gay scene in its 16th episode.

The questionable scene was of actress Sawsan Bader's husband, played by Sayyed Rajab, whom she comes home to find in bed with a young boy.

Shocked, she yells at him saying, "You're trying to have sex with boy? And in our bed?"

Naturally, the scene was heavily criticized by social media users who deemed it as immoral, against Arab culture and very inappropriate to air during Ramadan.

The series was adapted from Egyptian Nobel Prize-winner Naguib Mahfouz 's novel which carries the same name.
