ALBAWABA - The husband-and-wife legal team of George and Amal Clooney allegedly contacted a senior adviser of President Biden last month to voice their disapproval of the president's criticism of the ICC's efforts to obtain an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

After US President Joe Biden slammed the International Criminal Court, threatening warrants for Israeli and Hamas officials with the legal assistance of George Clooney's wife, Amal Clooney, the Washington Post reports that George Clooney contacted a senior White House adviser.

Clooney allegedly contacted White House counselor Steve Ricchetti after Biden's denunciation of the ICC arrest warrants against Israeli officials as "outrageous." The actor's representatives could not be reached for comment about the Washington Post article.

At the time, Amal Clooney said on the Clooney Foundation for Justice website that her goal in providing legal counsel to the ICC was to save human lives while also upholding the rule of international law.

The insignificance of a child's existence cannot be tolerated, not in my capacity as a human rights attorney. I refuse to believe that the law should be able to ignore or absolve any wrongdoer in any disagreement. To that end, she voiced her support for the International Criminal Court prosecutor's unprecedented move to bring Palestinian and Israeli victims of genocide to justice.

The Washington Post reports that George Clooney reportedly worried behind the scenes that sanctions imposed on the International Criminal Court (ICC) for suggesting that leaders of Israel and Hamas be held responsible for suspected war crimes would affect his wife.

His visit to the White House occurred just before George Clooney is still anticipated to attend a major fundraiser for Joe Biden's reelection campaign for president in the United States, which is scheduled for next weekend in Los Angeles. As part of its goal, the Clooney Foundation for Justice offers free legal representation and advocacy to those who have been victims of human rights violations such as wrongful incarceration, genocide, or torture.
