Haifa Wahbi encourages students at C & E American University Institute

Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi gave a speech to students at the C & E American University Institute, a small vocational institute outside Beirut, in which she stressed the importance of learning the English language as an essential tool for survival in the business world.

 

Haifa encouraged students to learn a number of languages and to be open to different cultures around the world.

 

The university invited the singer to speak about her future endeavors in the Arab world and abroad. BBC international radio network recently chose her as their ambassador to the Middle East.


Haifa was given an honorary award by the administration of the university.

 

Wahbi has inaugurated the third “Song Festival for Mediterranean Countries” at the opera house in Alexandria, Egypt. The festival features a competition of new voices from around the Arab world and abroad.

 

Half of the contestants competing in the race are Egyptian, and the rest are from Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Syria, in addition to participants from Turkey, Spain, Ireland, Germany, and Romania.

 

The six-day event features performances by the Egyptian band WAMA, singers Midhat Saleh and Khaled Salim, and Lebanese singer Carol Samaha. Tunisian singer Saber Riba’ee will give the grand finale performance at the awards ceremony.
